Beth Belock, DVM has been caring for pets in the Michiana area since 2012.

Dr. Belock uses a veterinary and training approach that is Inspired by Kindness and Informed by Science. Her passion is creating the best possible veterinary and training experiences for dogs, and she is committed to using positive, evidence-based techniques.
This passion led Dr. Belock to create Canine Body and Mind in 2022 so she could focus on the physical and behavioral wellness of dogs in a setting designed around the dog’s needs and perspective.
She became a certified Fear Free Veterinary Professional in 2017 and has been teaching puppy classes since completing the Karen Pryor Puppy Start Right for Instructors course in 2014. She completed the Click to Calm for Instructors course from the Karen Pryor Academy in 2023. She is a member of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior, an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and a Level 1 AKC Fit Dog Intructor. She attends annual CE events on various veterinary behavior topics and loves attending the Clicker Expo.

Brooke Lamb, LVT has been working as a licensed veterinary technician since 2011.

As a teenager, she developed her love of animals through 4H and through an early introduction into the veterinary world. She has worked with Dr. Belock since 2012. Together they completed the Karen Pryor Puppy Start Right certification and began training in 2014 as The Art of Pawsitivity, following a positive based approach fueled by CE and trips to the Clicker Expo. She became a Canine Good Citizen Certified Evaluator in 2017.
In her spare time she travels with her dog Poppy to dock diving events and other fun activities. She has always had a passion for both physical and behavioral rehabilitation and has trained and owned many animals deemed “flawed” by others, helping them to heal and thrive.

Nikki Croy, ABCDT has been a certified dog trainer since 2013.

Nikki grew up around dogs and always enjoyed training them. In 2012 she completed her Certification in Pet Grooming from the Animal Behavior College and became a Certified Dog Trainer in 2013. She helped at a local rescue where she furthered her skills. She then spent several years working for a corporate company as a dog trainer and taught group classes and private lessons.

Nikki joined Canine Body and Mind in October of 2022. She completed the Karen Pryor Puppy Start Right for Instructors course in 2023. She helps with classes, private lessons and our Cooperative Carre Course on Grooming. She also assists during veterinary wellness visits. She is a dog mom to 4 fantastic dogs and a cat and duck mom as well!

Taylor Emery, ABCDT joined our team in May, 2023.

Taylor grew up around dogs her whole life. After teaching physical education for four years, she was ready for a new challenge. She enrolled in the Animal Behavior College Dog Trainer program and completed her externship at Canine Body and Mind. After earning her ABCDT certification she officailly joined our team in May, 2023.

Taylor leads our Puppy Classes and Intro to Manners Classes, co-teaches the STAR Class and helps with private lessons. When she isn’t training dogs or teaching children you can find her spending time with her family.

Lindsay has had a love for animals since she was young, and began working with them professionally as a staff member at Serenity Pet Spaw in 2021, where she has gained experience working with complex behavioral cases. When she got her first personal dog in 2022, she began exploring training for competitive dog sports and is now actively training in Agility, Obedience, Rally, and FastCAT.

Lindsay takes a relationship based approach to training that has largely been informed by the classes, camps, conferences, and webinars she has attended through Fenzi Dog Sports Academy. She is passionate about finding creative and tailored ways to break down challenging concepts for both ends of the leash. Her mission is to help people better communicate with their dogs, and help them deepen their connection through training, games, and play. She shares her life with her two young, energetic, and brilliant Miniature American Shepherds, Anya and Mira, and her four cats. In her free time, she enjoys taking her dogs to private dog parks she finds on the app, SniffSpot, and training new tricks.

Meet Our Canine Team

Poppy

Poppy helps as a demo dog during group classes and Dive Club practice and leads our AKC Fit Club walks. She competes internationaly in Dock Diving and also enjoys Coursing and FastCAT. She has her CGC Urban title, among many others, and is working toward her therapy dog certificaion.
Ruger

Ruger helps during private lessons with other dogs. He works with dogs who are training for their Canine Good Citizen test and with reactive dogs during counterconditioning training. He is an AKC STAR Puppy, competes in Dock Diving at the novice level and has earned his AKC Novice and Intermediate Trick Dog Titiles. He is currently working toward his CGC title.
Vega

Vega helps during private lessons with other dogs. She works with dogs who are training for their Canine Good Citizen test and with reactive dogs during counterconditioning training. She is an AKC STAR Puppy and has earned her AKC Novice Trick Dog Titile. She is currently working toward her Level 1 Cooperative Care certificate through Fenzi TEAM Titles.
Gunner

Gunner (a.k.a. Potato) helps during private lessons with other dogs. He works with dogs who are training for their Canine Good Citizen test and with reactive dogs during counterconditioning training. He is currently working toward his CGC title.
