Dr. Beth Belock, DVM, PCBC-A

Dr. Beth Belock is a veterinarian, professional canine behavior consultant, and founder of Canine Body and Mind. Her approach is Inspired by Kindness and Informed by Science, combining veterinary expertise with evidence-based training to support both the physical and behavioral wellness of dogs.

In 2022, Dr. Belock founded Canine Body and Mind to create a practice focused on helping dogs thrive through compassionate, dog-centered care. She is passionate about improving veterinary and training experiences by using positive, humane, and scientifically supported methods that prioritize both learning and emotional well-being.

Dr. Belock holds the Professional Canine Behavior Consultant–Accredited (PCBC-A) credential through the Pet Professional Guild, the organization's highest level of canine behavior accreditation. She completed the Fear Free Veterinary Professional Certification Program in 2017 and remains committed to applying Fear Free principles in her work.

She particularly enjoys teaching cooperative care skills, which help dogs become active participants in their own healthcare and create less stressful veterinary and grooming experiences. These same principles are incorporated into her veterinary appointments whenever possible, helping dogs feel more comfortable and confident during examinations and procedures. For Dr. Belock, cooperative care represents the perfect blend of veterinary medicine and training.

Dr. Belock is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, a Level 1 AKC Fit Dog Instructor, and a member of both the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior and the Pet Professional Guild. She maintains her veterinary license and PCBC-A accreditation through ongoing continuing education in veterinary medicine, animal behavior, and training.

Through every class, consultation, and veterinary interaction, Dr. Belock strives to help dogs and their people build stronger relationships based on trust, communication, and understanding.

Lindsay has had a love for animals since she was young, and began working with them professionally as a staff member at Serenity Pet Spaw in 2021, where she has gained experience working with complex behavioral cases. When she got her first personal dog in 2022, she began exploring training for competitive dog sports and is now actively training in Agility, Obedience, Rally, and FastCAT.

Lindsay takes a relationship based approach to training that has largely been informed by the classes, camps, conferences, and webinars she has attended through Fenzi Dog Sports Academy. She is passionate about finding creative and tailored ways to break down challenging concepts for both ends of the leash. Her mission is to help people better communicate with their dogs, and help them deepen their connection through training, games, and play.

Lindsay teaches our Puppy Class, Intro to Manners Class, Novice and Intermediate Trick Classes, Loose Leash Walking Class and Games Class. She also teaches private lessons and leads educational workshops. She shares her life with her two young, energetic, and brilliant Miniature American Shepherds, Anya and Mira, and her four cats. In her free time, she enjoys taking her dogs to private dog parks she finds on the app, SniffSpot, and training new tricks.
