Rec Sports!

Our goal at Canine Body and Mind is to make dog sports accessable to everyone! Though some of our participants may choose to record and submit videos for virtual titles through AKC or Fenzi TEAM titles after completing out classes, our emphasis is not on competition. Our emphasis is to have fun learning new skills, building connection with your dog and exploring your dog’s interests in a low pressure environment. Whether you choose to go on to compete, or just want to have fun with your dog, is entirely up to you! Either way, our rec sports classes are a great introduction to the basics of the sport.

Mantrailing Workshop

Does your dog love hide and seek? Then they will love mantrailing! Mantrailing is a sport where dogs learn to track an individual's scent from an article that they have touched, in order to locate a hidden person. Dogs will take turns, so they will need to be comfortable waiting in the car until their turn. Required materials: small tupperware with high value treats, ziplock bag with a clothing article with the handler's scent, pulling harness, 6-10' leash. This is a 2 hour, single day workshop for dogs over 1 year of age.

Come spend some time with us and learn all about how to get your dog started in disc sports! We will be covering different types of disc events, some foundation exercises to teach important skills, how to throw a disc, and most importantly, how to get your dog excited about disc sports!
